UBC inflation at 10 year high; blames universal credit, shakes up

The Universal Banking Corporation today announced this quarter's inflation figures, at 3.2%. UBC spokesperson Owain Bennett said that the blame for this is rooted in the universal credit system, itself lauded as being a great equaliser.

"This sort of free credit handout makes no kind of sense especially when our markets are being rattled to the core. Something must change, and fast, otherwise we risk runaway instabilities with catastrophic effects."

Bronwyn McGill, of the Retail Services Union, was available with a barbed reply. "Bennett knows nothing about what hardworking people have to go through just to make ends meet. Messing with the basic income will inevitable lead to cutbacks, stalling the economy and a return to the hardships of the past. Who will stand up for us?"

Bennett was unavailable for comment.
